Bit Visualizers

2016 April

An experiment in visual representation of information, combinatorics, and visual enumeration of data. Small low-resolution sprites are encoded as 16-bit numbers and tiled across the canvass. The relatively small number of bits is then rotated, reflected, and translated to create images with varying levels of symmetry.

I produced several large-format prints showing all 65,535 possible sprites tiled in ascending order, allowing people to visually see patterns in the binary representations of numbers.
